Trust IV are proud to announce our support for City in the Community (CITC). Set up in 1986 by Manchester City Football, the scheme was intended to forge closer links with the local communities. It also aims to create opportunities through football to inspire young people to aspire to achieve.
26 years later, the scheme continues to go from strength to strength and works with over 35,000 young people and their families. Further to this, CITC has established international links with community organisations in America, the Far East and Indonesia. With regional and national awards, CITC really is helping those people it works with!
I recently went to the Etihad Stadium to present Alex Williams with a cheque for £300. Williams will be well known to football fans as a former first team goalkeeper with over 100 appearances for City. After retiring, he went on to join and manage CITC, as well as gaining an MBE for Services to the Community. Williams was very thankful for the generous support and said the money would be put towards community projects in Manchester.
Trust IV have recently been supporting several Manchester City FC run projects including Velocity 2013 and of course CITC.
